Senior Manager, Data Analytics

Job ID 2026-1443

Data Analytics El Segundo, California

Description

About the Role: Internet Brands/WebMD is looking for a Senior Data Analytics Manager to join our Los Angeles-based headquarters. In this high-impact role, you will serve as the lead Strategic Analytics Partner for our programmatic advertising business. You will be responsible for turning high-velocity data into actionable revenue strategies, moving beyond traditional reporting into the realm of automated insights and data storytelling.

The Ideal Candidate: You are an organized self-starter who thrives on translating complex datasets into clear business narratives. You have a passion for data engineering principles, high-fidelity dashboarding, and operational efficiency. You don't just "pull data"—you understand the "why" behind the numbers. You have a bias for action, apply the 80/20 rule to meet deadlines without sacrificing quality, and enjoy mentoring a team in a fast-paced, Agile environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Advisory: Deliver executive-level summaries and "Next-Best-Action" recommendations to business owners and stakeholders.
  • Scalable BI Architecture: Design and oversee the development of robust, self-service visualizations (Tableau/Power BI) that provide real-time benchmarking and trend analysis.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Manage and grow a team of high-performing analysts, fostering a culture of technical excellence and business curiosity.
  • Advanced Behavioral Analytics: Perform deep-dive analysis on web traffic, email, and app engagement to measure program efficacy, including LTV (Lifetime Value) modeling, retention cohorts, and complex A/B/n testing.
  • Agentic BI & Automation: Prototype and deploy AI agents to automate routine diagnostic tasks, such as anomaly detection in programmatic bid-streams or automated performance narratives, reducing manual reporting overhead.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Agile Engineering and Data Platforms teams to optimize data schemas, ensuring data integrity and flexible solutions for evolving analytic needs.
Requirements:
  • Experience: 6+ years in a hands-on analytical role with a track record of solving complex business problems.
  • Communication: Proven ability to "translate" technical data into plain English for non-technical stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • SQL Mastery (4+ years): Expert-level ability to write complex, performant queries for data extraction, transformation, and modeling.
  • BI Visualization (3+ years): Advanced proficiency in Tableau (or similar tools like Power BI/Looker), focusing on UX/UI best practices for executive dashboards.
  • Web Analytics: Experience with Google Analytics 4 (GA4) or Adobe Analytics.
  • Data Literacy: Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills (complex modeling, Power Query) and a deep understanding of modern data warehousing concepts.
  • Strategic Mindset: Excellent business acumen and product sense; ability to prioritize a roadmap based on ROI and business impact.
